Note: We don’t publicly release every app version we build, which is why you may notice some jumps in version numbers.
✨ NEW feature ✨ Introduction of SSO (single sign-on) to allow you to log in and securely authenticate using your existing credentials. Works with Microsoft Azure AD. Setup instructions here.
✨ NEW feature ✨ ****Introduction of ringtone detection, which allows ringtones through rather than considering them as background noise and removing them.
✨ NEW feature ✨ Introduction of “Poor signal mode” to accommodate for situations with poor signal (e.g. bad connection, low bandwidth, voice dropouts, distortion). Note: This model has been built for CCaaS platforms connecting with landlines or mobile phones. Not recommended for online conferencing platforms.
Added the ability to set your system default audio device (Microphone + Speaker) as IRIS Clarity. This means that for all platforms that are using the system default device, audio will be passed through IRIS Clarity. Read more.
Removal of “high performance mode” which previously allowed users to choose between removing more or less background noise to save space on CPU. Our CPU-efficient mode now works as well has our high performance mode, so has now become the default.
Bug fixes and improvements, including a bug that was causing a volume issue at the start of calls.
Enhanced model which improves the quality of the voice and addresses an issue where quiet syllables would sometimes get dropped
Bug fixes and improvements, including increased stability
UI improvement to make it easier to view the connected applications
The app now maintains your headset choice in Microphone and Speaker settings after a computer restart — previously it would maintain throughout the day but would reset upon startup
Added the option to prioritise inputs and outputs in the order you prefer. Go to the hamburger menu (3 lines) on the top right of the app ⇒ Click Manage inputs and outputs
Changed copy from “inactive” to “no app connected” to avoid confusion when IRIS Clarity has not been set up in the meeting platform you’re using, or when you’re not actually on a call
Fixed bug where you could hear feedback on calls
Fixed bug where microphone was going silent without notice. Now, if it happens again (which it shouldn’t), user gets a notification to restart the app.
Added the option to turn Echo Cancellation on or off in Preferences. Echo cancellation is required when using the computer speaker in calls to avoid echo and feedback. However, if you are using headphones, you can turn this off to reduce CPU usage.
Updated terms in the Installer to be clearer and easier to understand
We now require a restart upon installation to ensure audio drivers are set up correctly and the app works optimally
IRIS Clarity now displays all apps connected to it, so if there is more than one, they will all be listed in the Microphone and Speaker sections
Bug fixes and improvements, including the issue where the app doesn’t open
Added a high-performance mode that allows you to switch between a more CPU-efficient model and a higher-performing model, but at a slightly increased CPU usage cost
Updated device permissions so that you can log into any number of devices, but only one at a time — when you log into a new device, you will automatically get logged out of IRIS Clarity on your previous device
Bug fixes and improvements, including echo cancellation, removing crackly audio from certain Bluetooth headphones, and fixing an issue where the app said it was working but it wasn’t
Improved an issue with speakers that caused feedback at high volumes
Added a background noise slider for speakers to give you more control over the noise you hear
Optimised CPU to make it easier on older/lower specced devices
Added localisation for Spanish users (when your system locale is set to Spanish
)
Fixed a bug where the app would constantly minimise
Improved accessibility support
Enhanced support for 8K, which massively improves the quality of calls between computers and mobile phones (e.g. when calling a customer on their mobile through a VoIP or CRM platform, or ringing from your mobile into a Zoom / Google Meet meeting)
Introduced a new model for even better sound
Added notification support (so we can let you know when new updates are available!)
Polished some UI
Fixed a bug where Microsoft Teams didn’t work with Bluetooth headphones and M1 Macs
Cleaned up some UI
Fixed some Bluetooth headphones bugs
Improved the model
Fixed general crashes and added a forgot password
button
Added functionality for autofill via iCloud keychain
Updated core engine to improve noise removal and quality of speech
Our initial release! IRIS Clarity is now available for the public
✨ NEW feature ✨ Centralised app config: This gives admins the ability for the app to be configured via the admin panel so that all users have the best experience when using it. Profiles can also be created, edited, deleted in this new version and it can be simply set up either with SSO or as part of the app installation process
✨ NEW feature ✨ Microphone boost audio mode: A new setting in the app to soften the noise removal on the microphone slide, similar to the background noise slider on the speaker side.
Bug fixes
Ringtone detection can now be set to persist throughout a single call. This is particularly helpful if you’re using persistent station connections.
Bug fix for when the app was showing there was no internet connection when you clearly have internet

Improved app efficiency and reduced CPU usage
Improved error messages across the app to make them clearer
Avaya users: we’ve fixed the volume slider so that it keeps its position between calls

rather than just Clarity

The background noise slider now needs to be toggled on before it appears in the application: Go to the hamburger menu (3 lines) on the top right of the app ⇒ Click Preferences ⇒ Check the box next to “Show background noise level slider”
Avaya users: we have added a new volume slider to address an issue inherent to Avaya that causes incoming audio to be a little too quiet. We are working on building this out for all other applications, too.
